VOTE ONLINE!

It is election time again!

BIG CHANGE THIS YEAR!    NO VOTING KEY REQUIRED!

JUST USE YOUR MEMBERSHIP NUMBER!

The By-laws of HAL-PC require that an Annual Meeting of the members for the purpose of filling any vacancies among the Directors be held in June of each year. There are seven vacancies on the Board of Directors. Three persons submitted their candidacy. Their campaign statements may be viewed below.

There are three ways to vote in the Election.

  1. Online starting May 28, 2013 by visiting the HAL-PC Election website at www.hal-pc.org/election
  2. By mailing in a Ballot (pdf file)
  3. In person on Saturday, June 22, 2013 between 1pm and 3pm.

1.) ONLINE VOTING—HAL-PC members’ favorite method. All HAL-PC members are encouraged to vote online. HAL-PC continues to offer electronic voting, and we are proud of our efforts. Please go to www.hal-pc.org/election and follow the on-screen directions.

Voting begins on May 28, 2013 and must be completed by June 22, 2013 at 3 PM. This online voting method is very simple for you, and simple also for the Election Committee volunteers. Thank you.

2.) MAIL-IN VOTING. Obtain a blank Ballot by printing a copy of the ballot
Mail the completed Ballot to HAL-PC Election Committee, 4543 Post Oak Place #200, Houston, Texas  77027. Ballots must be RECEIVED not later than 5PM, June 21, 2013.

3.) IN PERSON VOTING. You are welcome to vote online at HAL-PC HQ on June 22, 2013 beginning at 1:00 PM, and the polls will close promptly at 3:00 PM. The last person in the line at 3:00 PM will be the last person allowed to vote. The Election Committee will announce the unaudited results as soon thereafter as is practicable.

Please Note: If you have trouble voting by one of the three above-mentioned methods, please email the Election Committee at [email protected]. However, before you contact HAL-PC, make sure you were a dues-paid member as of May 23, 2013. We will endeavor to resolve your dilemma.

CANDIDATE CAMPAIGN STATEMENTS

The Candidate’s Statements and Ballot positions were determined by the chronological order received. If the candidates submitted statements, no content editing has been performed. Statements are published as submitted, including misspellings and errors of fact, grammar and punctuation, and errors in the name, spelling, and styling of HAL-PC and HALNet. The statements have, however, been reviewed for compliance with the statement format published in the Call for Candidate announcements; some statements may be truncated in order to conform to the 250 word limit.

I have been a member of HAL-PC since 1992.  My two boys ages 6 and 7 at the time are now in the IT field because of HAL-PC.
Neither I nor my boys, now 27 and 28, (still single) will ever be able to repay HAL-PC for such a very successful computer career that began here for them.
On behalf of my boys and myself I’ll do the best I can to do my part in volunteering for such a great organization and it’s consistently kind and helpful members.  In any case, I can promise that you’ll be seeing me in the future at HAL-PC in some capacity or another.  To HAL-PC and it’s members: Numbers 6:24-26.

Thank you.

Please vote for me so I may continue to represent you on HAL-PC’s Board of Directors (BOD).

I have served as a member of the BOD since I was first elected in 2007.  Each year has presented its own challenges and successes to HAL-PC.  I have been a part of the team looking for and participating in solutions.

There are all different kinds of volunteers from Special Interest Groups (SIG) Leaders, committee members, Front Desk volunteers answering phones and technical questions, callers to remind members or users about expiration dates, etc., that make HAL-PC work.  I have the time to volunteer to work as a member of the BOD and to make my contribution to HAL-PC, giving me the opportunity to help in some way the return of classes being conducted at HAL-PC’s Headquarters and the increase in the number of presentations.

Thank you for your vote.
